We've had some really nice weather lately with lots of sunshine!
No snow in the city though. The mountains are outfitted with a great base for skiing and we've been shopping for some ski-clothes while all the sales are going on.
We are planning to take a trip to the Alps in the next few weeks. Looking forward to it!

Happy Birthday-Carlo!
We spent the day relaxing at home and unfortunately it was a day with not a single photo taken...:-( Sorry! In the afternoon Carlo had cooked a really delish Pasta meal and I baked a cake...we had our neighbor over for lunch, coffee, cake and we sat and ate & talked for close to 2 hours. Carlo was on the phone for most of the time, as everyone wanted to congratulate him. Around 10PM, we scrapped our movie plans in favor of treating ourselves to a fabulous Sushi dinner at one of our favorite Sushi places in town. Good decision! :-)
Happy Birthday, love!

Weekend at the Tegernsee!
Our friend and neighbor, Teresa, had invited us to her birthday celebration at the
beautiful Tegernsee this weekend. We had a fabulous time in "Tracht" (The tradiotional dress from Bavaria), delicious food, great company and super weather on Sunday!
Here a few pics to share, while I work on a more detailed account of the party!

Texas at Twilight
Christmas-Texas Style!
Howdy Ya'll!
Carlo and I spent the Christmas Holidays & New Year's Eve in Texas visiting with my mom and stepdad, as well as my brother, who also made the trip from Germany.
During our trip we spent lots of time fishing, cooking, visitng Austin and San Antonio including the Alamo and Riverwalk and of course sampling the fabulous Tex-Mex cuisine.
We also visited my old campus at Texas State University in San Marcos, 26 miles south of Austin and climbed an ancient monolith, which is now a Texas State Park. It is called "Enchanted Rock" where you have a fantastic view of the entire surroundings - for miles and miles!!! Of course, no trip to the Lone Star State would be complete without mentioning all the animals which we enjoyed seeing from afar (deer and a real live coyote ! ) and the a bit more domesticated ones like our cats, dogs and the neighbors piglets...It was just great spending time in the outdoors with sun and wind as the only audible and visible companions besides the creatures great and small that call that corner of the earth "home".
Texas will always occupy a special place in my heart as well as the people that live there. It was my home for 8 years of my life and maybe some of the very best!Spending two weeks with my mom and having our family together during these days was a special and seldom treat!
Here a multitude of images and snapshots of our time there:
