We spent the afternoon in Manly with Carlo's co-worker Patrick and his parents, brother and cousin as well as a friend. We had lunch at a place called "ribs and rumps"!!! Meat, meat, meat on the menu. It was a lovely afternoon and the kangaroo steak was even better!!!
Today we visited the Taronga Zoo - one of the premier Zoos in the world! We caught the 8:45 AM Ferry to the Zoo and were among of the first to enter. We experienced an amazing 5 hours of animals, jungle, shows and lots of great views of the city! Close animal encounters with the kangaroos and an Emu!
Carlo making friends with the locals. :-)
This baby elephant was the first one EVER to be born in an Australian Zoo!
Curious EMU!
Seal show at 11 AM. It was getting pretty steamy hot then...
What an awesome look!
Sumatran Tiger!
Bird show at 2pm. Very hot!!!
O.K. we've taken better pictures, but at least we are both in it!
Do we look like tourists or what???
Can the view get any better?
"Sky safari ride"
Very tired and sweaty. But happy. Descent on the gondola back to the ferry. :-)
One week ago I suffered from a pinched nerve in my back due to a herniated disc... It's getting slowly better and with regular anti-inflammatory injections right into the area we are hoping I will be fit for our departure to Australia on the 19th.
It's been a tough week for Carlo and I due to my handicap, but I am slooowly on the mend.
Carlo and I relived last year's family wedding celebration at our favorite restaurant in Munich. "Acetaia". It is always an indulgence and great pleasure. We enjoyed the "the works" with antipasti, warm goat cheese filled tortellini with their signature balsamic vinegar, pasta with octopus, and a main course of rabbit. A selection of different mini deserts ranging from creme brulee and mandarin sorbetto rounded out the selection. Thank you Carlo!!!
Thankfully my back was holding up just long enough to get through desert. :-)
One year ago today we signed out marriage license here in Munich. December 6th will always be a special day for us!
Tonight we are going back to the same restaurant where we went the night of our wedding. :-) What a year it has been!!! Happy 1st anniversary to my hubby!
