We climbed up to the massive castle on the hill... The view was amazing as well as some other sights along the way.. :-)
In the end, we hailed two cabs to take us back to our hotel, yet we couldn't communicate the street name of our hotel to the cabbie.. Apparently the czech pronunciation was slightly different from what we had imagined. In the end, thanks to a written message on a cell phone we were able to direct the driver to our desired destination!
I almost feel like a tour guide, having to narrate the scenery!
"So...below you can see Mike&Aynsley, Carlo&Ines on the terribly crowded Karl's bridge and the view from our seat on a historic barge, which took us for a little ride on the river..."
Three weekends ago, I guess it was September 12th-14th, Carlo and I - along with our good friends Aynsley, Mike and Hemansu - we braved rain and traffic to visit Prague for a weekend.
It was my first time in the Czech Republic and Prague...amazingly beautiful! Very historic and quaint houses, filled to the brim with cozy pubs and restaurants.
Oh, and a good thing that they had dismantled their border passport controls! I didn't take my passport, and was sweating bullets approaching the border crossing! :-o
Another good thing: We woke to a beautiful sunny day which was very unexpected as the weather forecasts had called for rain, rain and more rain! I was so sure, that I had left my sunglasses at home! Never again!
Below some pics from the "Goat bar", fleamarket and stroll around town. :)
O.K. - it has been forever since I've updated our blog...
Carlo and I were so glad we decided to spend a week in Sicily as the weather upon our return to Munich has been VERY autumn - almost winter like. It's been much cooler and wetter than it should be at this time of the year.
The week with Carlo's parents have supplied us with ample memories to hold us over the long, dark, winter months...
Here some pics from along the way:
Fishing with Carlo's friend Gigi - and not catching ANYTHING! :-) Shopping local veggies - love the giant eggplants & walnuts! Having a "Granita" for breakfast!! Heaven!!!
