Up and down the river!

This weekend I visited my girlfriends in Frankfurt. We planned a river cruise up the Rhine. Quite touristy, but the weather was great and we enjoyed the sundeck. Inga brought "Moritz" her little three month old boy along.... very cute.

All in all a really nice weekend!!! Wish I could do it more often...

We embarked in the town of "St. Goar" where we made a pit stop for some cake, wine and local eats.

Ferderweisser! Oh jee... we felt it all the way home... sweet but good. (It is the first of this year's wine, still fermenting, and sold in open containers, as it would burst the glass if closed. It is quite sparkly...

Here some of the sights along the way: There are many castles and vinyards to admire..

We were all pretty beat from the sun and the wine...Moritz was the only one sleeping though!

Busy little town, flooded with passengers from the boats!

Full bloom!

The weather has been fantastic and our balcony is in full bloom. Seriously, if the plants get any bigger we will have to expand our space...:)

I raised all the plants in this planter from last summer's seeds.

This one looked like it would die any day all winter, but once I placed it back outside, it started blooming and has not stopped.

Home grown chillies too! They pack a punch...super spicy!!!!!!!

Nymphenburger Schloss-park yesterday

The weather is really nice at the moment. Lots of sun and still pretty warm. Here some pics from my walk around the park..

There was one swan chasing the others... what a bully!

I love this shot. These flowers were all over the pastures. (Herbstzeitlose)

Wedding, photography session

At the farthest end of the park...nice light.

It's kind of hard to see, but there was a giat spiderweb stretched in between the woman's hand and head!

Mirror image on the creek

Pretty colors!

Our first tomato crop!

Our first time as tomato growers was fruitful! :-)

The four different plants have been producing tomatoes of all sizes and color!
I realized that one of the plants was called a "yellow currant tomato" - producing berry-sized, yellow fruits... I picked about a pound and we made an excellent pasta with some fresh basil, also home grown on our balcony. Very tasty!!!

Nymphenburger castle before sunset...

Close to our house is one of the castles with a large park, which used to belong to the former king Ludwig of Bavaria. It is a great place to jog, walk and sometimes just to take some pictures of all the ducks and geese... Carlo loves the place for his running regimen. ;-)

Biergarten on a Saturday afternoon

A couple of weeks ago, we met up with Katia & Nils (Katia is Carlo's russian teacher) to have a few beers in the obligatory beer garden. It was soooo crowded, but we found a table without problems. It was the right moment for a "currywurst" and a "weissbier". :-) We ended up in the mexican bar area, with sand and lawnchairs...

Fun with the local cows....
